Today's Report

My University, The Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (Official Website) (Wikipedia) has organized a two day International Convention on "Technology Enabled Learning For Tertiary Education In India" (more...) we just finished off with the first day successfully. The day was pretty hectic starting at 0800 hrs and ending at 2300 hrs.

People from various parts of the country came together the first day presenting research papers on various technology aids that are either available or emerging very fast in the world market and how they can help in imparting education.

Some cultural items like folk music on Saint Kabir's (Wikipedia) couplets and Indian folk dance were presented to give a glimpse of Indian culture to the foreign delegates. They were very much appreciated and I plan to upload some footage of the same to tell you all how awesome it really was.

One notable speech was delivered by the Chief Guest of the day by eminent Indian scientist, Dr. Yash Pal (Wikipedia) who used humor and examples from daily life to explain the importance of education and ended his very informative speech by relating life with experience of riding a bicycle saying, "Being dynamic, you to move ahead and getting static, you fall."
